From the PTA President: Happy 2008!
We have a lot to be excited about over the coming months with Winterfest around the corner on Feb 23rd and the Arts & Crafts Family Night in March. Please consider lending a hand to help us bring these wonderful events to the families of the Crestwood community. Each will take a lot of volunteer hours - so please email me if you can help out.
Your PTA is hard at work to achieve one of our goals: advocating for children. The 2008 session of the General Assembly is now in session and many of your leaders are spending time monitoring activities and making sure that the children of Virginia are kept top of mind. On February 4th, PTA Day at the General Assembly will take place. It's a great opportunity to meet with legislators to let them know you are watching how they vote. I will be attending, along with my 15-year-old Ty, the session and meeting with our new Delegate Manoli Loupassi. Please contact me at rogerscbtjn@yahoo.com if you would like to join.
In the winter months, make sure that you encourage your children to get their daily exercise. Take them skating at one of our Family Fun Nights at Skate-A-Way, or out to the playground on the warmer days. Make sure to keep them happy and healthy!
Lastly, the Nominating Committee for the 2008-2009 PTA Board will be getting into action in February. Please consider stepping up to make sure our PTA activities and events stay a big part of our school community. Thank you for anything you can do!
